Mom. Mommy. Momma. Mother.

Who are you? I am mommy. I love being mommy. My Hubby always refers to me as momma because that's what he calls his mom. It drives me crazy because the kids are starting to copy him. I told him I'm going to start referring to him as diddy if he doesn't stop calling me momma (diddy is what I called my dad when I was little). Mommy just sounds so sweet. Plus, we always called my great grandmother momma. That's what I think of when I hear it. I have a friend who gets upset when her kids call her mommy. Apparently mommy means grandmother in the language they spoke growing up. She insists her kids call her momma. I call my mom, mom. My oldest brother calls her mother. My mom calls my grandmother, mother. What are you called and what do you call your mom? Since I have asked questions in this my blog will look really pathetic if I only have 2 comments. :)

My babies call me Momma. It doesn't bother me unless it's "Mommmmmaaaaaa, mommmmmmaaaa" in the most whiny voice you have ever heard. Otherwise, it's music to my ears! :)

I am here to save the day and be your de-patheticasizing third comment! I feel so honored!!!!

I am Mommy, and my mom was Mom. I don't wanna get shortened to Mom, because Mommy is just so darn cute.

And tip: If you're feeling pathetic about your comment number, you can always comment to respond to someone else and make it look like more. Not that I would EVER do that. Ahem. ;)

Good tip Rachel. I also think that mommy is so darn cute. But when they're 20 is it still cute.....yeah!

Yeah, I am assuming that it morphs into, "AWWWW MOOOOOOOM!" sometime during the teen years.

I was impressed when I saw that you had 5 comments, but now I see that you cheated (with Rachel's help :)). We haven't established what I'll be called yet - we'll just see what pops out of Eli's mouth (but hopefully it will be mommy). I call my mom "mom" unless I'm frustrated or annoyed at her (which isn't so seldom), in which case she is "mother".
