Party Time With Stinkerbell

My little girl is now 2. Sniff sniff. They grow up so fast. It seems like just yesterday she was our little chunky monkey.

She seemed like such a big girl when she turned 1.

I was so excited when I could finally put her hair in pigtails.

Now she is 2 with full pig tails and constantly telling me she IS a big girl.

Today we had her birthday party at Chick-fil-a.

It was really a lot of fun. They had face painting and played on the playground and of course my children's all time favorite thing. BALLOONS!

The kids took a break to shove down some chicken nuggets.

Soon it was Stinkerbell's time to blow out her candles.

Of course cup cakes wouldn't be complete without ice cream.

Belly's full and then the cow showed up. Stinkerbell was in love with the cow. I got a really cute pic with most of the kids and the cow but for some reason it wouldn't upload. I'll figure it out and put it up soon.

Stinkerbell was following the cow away. The nice cow stopped and gave her a hug.
We ended the day with a fun/successful birthday party and very happy 2 year old!

Mom. Mommy. Momma. Mother.

Who are you? I am mommy. I love being mommy. My Hubby always refers to me as momma because that's what he calls his mom. It drives me crazy because the kids are starting to copy him. I told him I'm going to start referring to him as diddy if he doesn't stop calling me momma (diddy is what I called my dad when I was little). Mommy just sounds so sweet. Plus, we always called my great grandmother momma. That's what I think of when I hear it. I have a friend who gets upset when her kids call her mommy. Apparently mommy means grandmother in the language they spoke growing up. She insists her kids call her momma. I call my mom, mom. My oldest brother calls her mother. My mom calls my grandmother, mother. What are you called and what do you call your mom? Since I have asked questions in this my blog will look really pathetic if I only have 2 comments. :)

B for Bear

Unfortunately I don't have any pictures for this post. Hopefully it will be just as exciting as usual. I realized today that I posted about our A week but I haven't posted about our B week. We made another lapbook. This time our book was about bears. We specifically learned about panda bears, polar bears, and grizzly bears. Woodstock's favorite is the panda bear. Stinkerbell's favorite activity was most definitely playing with bubbles. I'm not sure what it is with bubbles but it seems to entertain all ages. We have also been reading a lot of Bernstein Bear books. The one Woodstock always wants to read is Too Much T.V. I find that ironic because he most definitely watches too much t.v. You would think he wouldn't like a book that was all about turning off the t.v. He's a complex child! We also made a B box. I let Woodstock cut up a few pieces of blue, brown, and black construction paper. Then Stinkerbell and I glued it all over a cardboard box. I then wrote a capital B on one side and a little b on the other. We had a B hunt through the kids toys (which unfortunately are all around the house). We filled the box with a boat, books, bear, baby doll, bottle, bus, ball, bananas, and many more B things. The kids really enjoyed our scavenger hunt. I got the idea for making the B box from a set of books I bought when Woodstock was just a baby. They are called My First Steps To Reading. I found them at a consignment shop for $15. I just looked them up on the Amazon and they are $60. I think I got a good deal. There is a book for each letter (except for the last few letters are combined in one book). I really like that they are lower case letters too. Upper case letters seem to be easy for kids just to pick up on. Woodstock knew his upper case letters by two. I would like to take credit for it but, honestly I can't. As soon as I saw that he knew the letters and enjoyed them, I did start doing flash cards with him. Mainly to help his knowledge of letters to translate into more speaking. His speech was a little delayed. He learned upper case on his own but I had to teach him lower case and these books really helped. Now that he is learning the sounds they also help. The same goes for Stinkerbell. Great books. I should be a book salesman.

Our Weekend in Pictures

I cut Woodstocks hair. He's back to the 'ol mohawk. He hasn't sported it in about a year.

We went to Dinosaur World with our friends and their little girl. They were soooooo excited when they saw the first Dinosaur. The look on Stinkerbell's face says it all.

Taking a power nap on Daddy's head.

What a good day!
